UPL supports local education with scholarships for 21 children from nearby schools, providing opportunities for young people with great academic potential, but without resources. We believe in the transformative power of education.

The Colombian Family Welfare Institute (ICBF) guarantees adequate facilities, food and free education for 200 children from 2 to 5 years of age. UPL employees contribute as volunteers, dedicating part of their salary to transform the lives of these children. In addition, UPL and its corporate volunteers support the Foundation that protects children who work at traffic lights, offering them an afternoon of movies, food, and donating uniforms for their school classes. This initiative benefits 50 children, providing them with access to recreation and education, and demonstrates our belief in the potential of each child and the importance of providing them with tools for a better future.

The DNA LIDER leadership workshop, led by a professional educator, brought together 23 community leaders and provided them with tools to improve coexistence and social development in their community.

Nature and Community Conservation: Since 2019, UPL's Urban Plants project has created the largest urban agriculture loop in the city, installing gardens in schools and training children and families as urban farmers. This connects children to nature, provides fresh food and creates green corridors for climate resilience. Recently, we have also created an internal urban garden for employees and trained a 13 senior care center. With more than 38 hours of training, we have added 117 m2 of green area and recycled more than 1000 kg of material. The project involves more than 111 employees, 300 contractors and benefits 240 people, with the support of rganizations such as Santa Magdalena Sofia District School, ICBF Kindergarten, the local community and the senior care center Centro de Vida.

UPL's Nanofranchise project empowers women heads of household and victims of domestic violence with training and financing. With more than 50 hours of SENA training, 19 women entrepreneurs have created businesses, improving the lives of their families and the local economy.
